Addison Barger (knee) exits prematurely

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Addison Barger left Friday's game against the Minnesota Twins with a left knee injury.

The top Blue Jays prospect fouled a ball off his knee in the third inning and was replaced by Raimel Tapia.

Barger was making his eighth start in the outfield this season. He left Friday's game after grounding out to first base in the third inning. He fouled a ball off the inside of his left knee while batting in the first inning.

The Blue Jays called Barger up to the majors on May 27th. The 23-year-old made his debut as a pinch-runner against the Los Angeles Angels on May 28th.

Barger is considered one of the Blue Jays’ top prospects. He was ranked as the organization’s No. 4 prospect by MLB Pipeline entering the season.
