No Rest For The Wicked Ps5 Review

No Rest for the Wicked: First Early Review in Progress

A Top-Down Action RPG with Great Promise

By Wesley LeBlanc on April 9, 2024

WEB Digital Foundry's video first look at the highly promising No Rest for the Wicked is now available on YouTube. The game is presented from a top-down perspective, similar to many action RPGs, but offers a unique blend of gameplay elements that sets it apart from the crowd.

A taste of the action

In the 90-minute-long in-development No Rest for the Wicked demo, players are given a taste of how things will unfold in the game's fictitious world of death, set in the year 841. Players take on the role of Cerim, a holy warrior with the powers to eliminate the Pestilence plaguing the kingdom.

The demo showcases a variety of gameplay mechanics, including combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. The combat is fast-paced and fluid, with Cerim able to use a variety of weapons and abilities to defeat her enemies. The exploration is non-linear, allowing players to choose their own path through the game world. And the puzzle-solving is clever and challenging, without being overly frustrating.

What we know so far

No Rest for the Wicked is scheduled for an early access release in 2024, with a full release planned for later in the year. The game is being developed by Moon Studios, the team behind the critically acclaimed Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

Based on the early gameplay footage and feedback, No Rest for the Wicked has the potential to be a truly special action RPG. The game's unique art style, engaging gameplay, and intriguing story are all major selling points. Fans of the genre will definitely want to keep an eye on this one.
