WEB Joseph Christian Chestnut, born November 25, 1983, is an American competitive eater. As of 2022, he is ranked first in the world by Major League Eating (MLE), the sport's governing body.
On Tuesday, Chestnut won his 16th Nathan's Famous hot dog eating title, consuming 76 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. This breaks his own world record of 74 set in 2020.
Chestnut's victory marks an unprecedented achievement in the sport of competitive eating. He now holds more world records than any other eater.
In an interview after the contest, Chestnut said, "I'm just glad I could make history again." He also thanked his fans for their support, saying, "They're the reason I keep coming back."
